Cavavin celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015: an opportunity to take stock of current and future developments for the wine franchise.
30 years after its creation, Cavavin caviste franchise continues to show signs of good health. In 2015, the network hopes to open around 20 new outlets, easily topping the 150-unit mark, including 15 in the Paris region. It also has a master-franchisee in England, based in Sheffield. To support this growth, the company has gradually reinforced the resources dedicated to the chain: they now include four animators, as well as four regional franchisee meetings a year, an annual congress, a network intranet and a permanent training program. As for the logistics platform (4,500 m² of storage space in La Baule), it ships 2,500,000 bottles a year. One of Cavavin's current development priorities is cross-channel, through its cavavincado.com e-commerce site, which enables consumers to order online and then pick up their parcel in-store or have it delivered to their home.
Another recent development : in July 2014, as part of its external growth, the brand took over the tourism, e-commerce and oenological sign activities (exclusive wine discovery events) of La Winery. This wine tourism concept, located some twenty kilometers from Bordeaux, is a wine discovery venue combining a restaurant, a tasting room and a 1,000 m² boutique, stocked with over 1,700 vintages from around the world. If La Winery is an exceptional concept, it has also served to mature the thinking behind Cavavin 's future development as a shopping center, currently being tested in a store in the Paris region.
The last event to mark Cavavin 's life in 2005 was the publication in September of "Franchising your passion for work", the book written by the company's founder, Michel Bourel. " For the past ten years, I'd been thinking about writing a book that would offer others a path to success, based on what I'd learned about people and business," he confides.
