At the 15th Giropharm Pharmacists' Congress (held in Madrid from October 2 to 5), the Giropharm group announced to its members the network's main strategic development priorities for 2015: commercial competitiveness, an educational approach to patient support, and network mobilization.

Giropharm's aim is to help its members make the transition to service pharmacy and boost the profitability of their businesses, while preserving the independence of the French pharmacy industry. To achieve this, the group is mobilizing its members around 2 key development priorities.

  • Validating training in Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE)
  • New partnerships with learned societies and patient associations: Giroprevent (Groupe d'Investigations pour des Recommandations d'Observance et de Prévention en Officine) has set up several real-life studies, in partnership with prescription product manufacturers and complementary payers, to demonstrate the impact of pharmacist intervention on improving compliance among diabetic patients.

Finally, Giropharm is committed to working alongside Federgy (the 1st chamber of pharmacy groups and chains, bringing together 14 national groups and representing 12,000 pharmacies) to defend the specific interests of groups and gain representation with the authorities.
