Funécap, the funeral services group, announced on Monday August 3 that it has taken over the Roc-Eclerc funeral services franchise (400 branches in France).

Funeral services group Funécap announced in a press release on Monday August 3 that it has taken control of funeral services franchise Roc-Eclerc from Daniel Abittan, its majority shareholder since 2012, and his associates.

Created in 1985, Roc-Eclerc (400 franchised agencies) "will consolidate the Funécap group's multi-brand positioning and significantly strengthen the group's presence in the fair-price services segment, while retaining its management autonomy - an autonomy that guarantees the best protection of the interests of affiliates under the Roc-Eclercbrand", says the group in its press release.

Founded in 2010, Funécap operates 250 directly-operated and franchised branches under several national brands, including Pompes Funèbres Pascal Leclerc and L'Organisation Funéraire) and local brands (under the France Obsèques). Thanks to this acquisition, the group "will approach 200 million euros in sales in 2015, of which 110 million will be directly operated and 140 million franchised".

"This merger will also enable the group and its franchisees to face up to the strong changes underway in the funeral market and make the most of them," adds the press release.
