"This year's franchising mega-show, to be held in Paris from March 23 to 26, is expecting over 35,000 business creators and retailers, and 500 exhibitors.

Will Franchise Expo Paris do even better this year than in 2013? Reed Expositions France and the French Franchise Federation (FFF) are hoping so. Last week, the event's co-organizers announced that they were counting on "8% more exhibiting companies" (460 vs. 428 last year), and a total of "over 35,000 visitors".

To attract these entrepreneurs and retailers in search of a brand, Franchise Expo Paris is pulling out all the stops at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center from March 23 to 26. Once again this year, no fewer than 100 conferences and workshops will punctuate the show. Most of them are designed to inform, guide and reassure prospective franchisees: "Which profile for which franchise?", "Royalties, entry fees: why? What's the point?", "How to convince your banker?"... Others will advise future franchisors (each day at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.): "Becoming a franchisor: methodology, accounting and legal aspects". Finally, others will look at the ins and outs of business creation in general: "Entreprendre, mode d'emploi", "Réussir son business plan", "Comment choisir son emplacement"...

The workshops will be shorter (30 min instead of 45), and more interactive than in previous years, say the organizers. The show also features two new areas: a Village Villes & Régions, dedicated to local authorities, and a Commercial Real Estate Lounge, hosting several players in this niche in partnership with Mapic.

Hotellerie-restauration at the forefront

In terms of exhibitors, while all business sectors will be represented, the Hospitality & Catering sector will lead the way (18% of exhibitors, including the inevitable Burger King, which is making a comeback in France), followed by Fashion & Personal Goods (13%), Specialized Retail (12%) and Services (11%). On the other hand, there will be fewer networks specializing in Automotive (5%), Real Estate (5%) and Supermarkets (2%).
As in previous years, a number of emerging French and foreign brands will be presenting their innovative concepts to prospective investors. These include frozen yoghurt, ethnic catering, children's fashion, fitness, hand beauty, wood-fired heating and home medical assistance. The most promising will be rewarded at the Cérémonie des Révélations de la Franchise (formerly Espoirs de la Franchise) on Sunday March 24."
