Franchisees, franchisors, partners, professional organizations, industry federations and citizens are speaking out together against Article 29 bis A of the draft labor law (known as the El Khomri law), currently being examined by the National Assembly since yesterday morning.

After launching a nationwide, positive and apolitical "J'aime ta franchise" campaign and a petition that now has over 4,500 signatories on change.org, these various players have sent a manifesto to the President of the Republic. Here it is:

Mr. President of the Republic,

Our movement is broad-based, bringing together franchisees, franchisors, suppliers, professionals and partners of these companies, as well as ordinary customers and citizens.

Our approach is a positive one: France boasts Europe's leading franchise network, and we want to build on this success.

Our cause is national in scope: we bring together 615,000 jobs and 70,000 companies in sectors as varied as bakery, hairdressing, furniture, personal services, florists, catering, automotive, household appliances, hotels and food retailers.

We are essential local players: more than half of our companies are located in towns with fewer than 40,000 inhabitants. Our request is simple: we want the withdrawal of article 29bis A of the "Labour Bill", surreptitiously introduced into your law, which runs counter to its objectives, calls into question the very principle of franchising and threatens shops, services, jobs, professionals and customers in these sectors.

Our country has developed a franchising model to which the French are attached: our movement bears witness to this!
You say you want to support business and job creation,
you now have the means to prove it!
Mr. President of the Republic, show us in turn that you love us.
Mr. President, today, you're the only one who can hear us.
